AbbVie: NO BS ABOUT HS

June 2015 — September 2015

For: Publicis North America (Client: AbbVie)

Role: Freelance Experience Designer / User Experience Design Intern

Type: Website

Tools: OmniGraffle

During the summer of 2015, I was employed as a User Experience Design Intern for nine weeks at Publicis North America in New York City. My experience was fantastic. I worked with the Humira team to design wireframes and sitemaps for a responsive website that raises awareness of a skin disease called Hidradenitis Suppurativa (HS). Halfway through my internship, the Lead Experience Designer on the project moved to a different team within the company. None of the other experience designers were available to take her place, which left Publicis with no other option but to make an intern the Lead Experience Designer on the project. After observing my output from the first half of the summer, Publicis was confident that I could handle the new set of responsibilities. Not only did I “handle” the new responsibilities, but I also exceeded expectations and was hired as a Freelance Experience Designer after my internship was over.
